Position Overview

We are seeking a Machine Shop Leader / Supervisor with deep hands-on experience in CNC machining, 5-axis and 3-axis programming with Powermill experience and the ability to train and develop machinists. This role is ideal for a highly technical leader who can both guide production and contribute directly to complex machining strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor machinists, operators, on machining techniques and best practices.

  • Provide expert guidance on setup, programming, tooling selection, and fixture design.

  • Review 5-axis and 3-axis toolpaths and provide feedback to improve cycle time, tool life, and part quality.

  • Work closely with Operations manager on manufacturability and process improvements.

  • Oversee daily shop operations, follow schedule, and support on-time delivery.

  • Train employees on CNC controls, Powermill software, and advanced machining workflows.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and improve cutting strategies proactively.

  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in CNC machining, including 5-axis and complex 3-axis work.

  • Strong Powermill programming skills

  • Experience with Heidenain And Fanuc controllers

  • Proven ability to teach, mentor, and lead a machining team.

  • Solid understanding of GD&T, high-precision tolerancing, and machining to spec.

  • Experience with tooling optimization, cycle time reduction, and lean manufacturing.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Experience with FPT?FCS palletizing systems, 

  • Experience machining plates, weldments, castings, and high-complexity parts and different material types
