SPM Automation (Canada) Inc. is looking for an administrative assistant to join our team in our Windsor office. This person will work to support the daily operations of the office. 


The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring a reliable and high-quality supply chain.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements in terms of price, delivery and quality.
  • Generate, process and track purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor order status, expedite deliveries and address any issues to ensure on-time delivery of materials and components.
  • Conduct cost analysis and comparison to optimize purchasing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely cost tracking and reporting.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production and quality assurance teams to understand technical requirements and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, quotes, invoices and related documentation.
  • Know and comply with ISO standards, processes and procedures as they apply to the purchasing and logistics team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain and Operations Management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or automation setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with machine building and automation components is an asset.
